Talents — Out-of-Run Progression
Talents are the meta layer on top of individual runs: every run — win or lose — pays talent experience that turns into permanent points for that class. Here’s how the economy and the trees work.

Version note: this page documents the original game (wow.aethus.pl) as observed on v0.91.2. The community rebuild has no talent system — numbers here come from the game’s own UI, not from open-source data. Original numbers can change in any update.
How you earn talent experience
- Every run pays. Time survived, kills, bosses slain and wins all add up — the game shows the exact split on the death or victory screen.
- Harder zones pay more. Deeper unlocks multiply the payout, so pushing a new zone beats farming Elwynn once you can survive it.
- The first point costs 80 XP; later points cost more (the bar advances, e.g. 95 for the next). One ~2-minute death run already banks ~46 XP.
- Points are per class. Your Warrior’s talents do nothing for your Mage — every class climbs its own 51-point ladder.
- Speed-up perk: the Veteran’s Lessons perk (bought with achievement points in the Rewards tab) makes classes with less talent experience than your best earn +20% — a catch-up mechanic for alts.
Tree structure — three trees per class
| Mechanic | Rule |
|---|---|
| Points per class | 51 at most — you can never max all three trees |
| Node ranks | Nodes hold 1, 3 or 5 ranks depending on the node |
| Row unlocks | A new row opens at 5 points spent in that tree |
| Milestones | At 10 / 20 / 30 points a tree grants a named power that changes how your spells play |
| Respec | Free — take points back anytime |
Warrior trees in detail (worked example)
| Tree | 10 points | 20 points | 30 points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arms | Deep Wounds | Sweeping Strikes | Mortal Wounds |
| Fury | Rampage | Flurry | Bladestorm |
| Protection | Shockwave | Fortified | Titan |
Names observed in-game on v0.91.2; hover any node in the Armory for its exact text. The other eight classes follow the same 3-tree / 10-20-30 pattern with their own milestones.
How to spend your first points
- Don’t spread. 5 points in one tree opens its second row — one tree pushed deep beats three trees scratched.
- Read the milestone first. Pick the tree whose 10-point milestone matches your build (a damage milestone for clear-speed builds, Protection’s for learning new zones).
- Respec is free, experiments aren’t wasted — but XP is; unspent points do nothing. Park points in a tree the day you earn them.
