Addons and the damage meter

The original game already counts your damage. Open the Damage Meter from its minimap button — Damage Done, Healing Done, Boss Damage and Party DPS. An addon is optional, and it is a WoW 1.12 addon (a folder with a .toc), not a separate launcher.

The meter that ships with the game

These labels were read from the live client’s English string table on October 27, 2026 (wenilla_bg.wasm?v=7553bc3a76db). That file’s menu text includes 0.120.5. This pass read the published strings. It was not a click through a running game, so anything the string table does not name is left out. Other guides still cite the last menu check, v0.123.0.

A community API note published with SurvivorsDragonUi on October 15, 2026 — older than this client, and not re-run for this page — describes Damage Done as one line per spell, pet, talent or item, with a talent or amulet proc marked so the game can show it in blue. It also says the meter window’s Reset changes that window only: the numbers an addon reads still cover the whole run. Healing Done in that note is health actually restored. Boss Damage is the last boss fight. Treat those details as that note’s account, not as a fresh playtest.

Install an addon in the browser

On wow.aethus.pl, open Options → AddOns. The page’s own hint, from the same string table:

The install button is backed by the page script addons.js (same cache stamp). What it does:

  1. Download the zip from the author’s own release. Leave it packed.
  2. Choose that zip. One folder with a .toc of the same name, or a folder that contains a single .toc, becomes one addon named after the .toc. A GitHub “Download ZIP” that wraps Name-main/Name.toc still counts, when that is the only toc.
  3. The page answers “Installed Name. It loads at your next run.” Installing the same name again replaces the old copy.
  4. A zip with no toc answers “holds no addon (no .toc file)”. A compression method the browser cannot read names the file and stops.
  5. Start a new run. The list is shared by every hero. Files stay in this browser (IndexedDB azeroth-survivors-addons, virtual folder /benilla-config/addons). They do not travel to another browser or to the Windows build, and clearing the site’s data removes them. Hero progress is a different file — export that save if you are moving your progress, not the addon.

Install an addon on the downloaded game

The same AddOns page on Windows or Linux says Open AddOns Folder, and “Put each addon’s folder (made for WoW 1.12) in {path}”. AZS Spell Meter’s README and 1.31 release stop at that button: the folder goes where it opens, and the path ends in AddOns/AZSSpellMeter/AZSSpellMeter.toc. SurvivorsDragonUi and Azerloot are the two that name the place benilla-config/AddOns beside AzerothSurvivors.exe. In every case the finished path is AddOns/AddonName/AddonName.toc, with the folder named like the toc. Then start a run — the same hint applies: every hero, next run.

The Windows download on this site only links the developer’s own archive. Addon zips stay on the author’s GitHub. Nothing on this page is a mirror.

Three author projects, read on October 27

Other addons exist. This table is only the repositories whose README and release page were opened for this guide. None of them was installed in a run here, and none of the release notes claims a test on 0.120.5. If the addon and the game disagree, the author’s newer release wins — do not treat the row below as a compatibility certificate.

Addon Use it for Open Release read Author’s own game note
AZS Spell Meter — kex0 Per-spell damage that the author says matches Damage Done, plus kills, procs, healing, the last boss fight, damage taken, and a co-op party view. /azsm 1.31 · Oct 24, 2026 Tested with game 0.113.3. Needs 0.87 or newer for the meter. Healing, Boss and Taken need what the author calls a current build.
SurvivorsDragonUi — migwynkriid13 A movable HUD: frames, action bar, boss bars, combat text, and an optional meter of the game’s own totals. /sdui 3.2.53 · Oct 27, 2026 Buff timers and the replacement revive bar need game 0.115.0 or newer. The release notes do not name a newer test.
Azerloot — Kindagrey A loot book, build planner, wishlist and a chronicle of recent runs. Our items guide is separate and stays the pages we maintain. /azl 2.5.3 · Oct 25, 2026 Hotfix for the engine update of October 25: the game no longer loads an addon picture larger than 512 pixels on a side.

Built-in numbers and an addon window

AZS Spell Meter’s README (main, read October 27) says its damage and each spell’s share come from the game’s own meter, so they match Damage Done. What it adds, by that README, is not a second tally:

If the window is off the screen, /azsm resetpos puts it back. /azsm shows or hides it. Deleting the addon folder does not clear a saved position — the author says the position is remembered across updates.

SurvivorsDragonUi can also draw the game’s totals (Damage Done, Healing Done, Boss Damage) from its own HUD. That meter is off until you enable it under /sdui. It is still the game’s numbers, in a different frame.

When an addon does not appear

What you seeWhat it means
“holds no addon (no .toc file)” The zip has no addon the installer recognizes. Use the author’s packaged release, not an unrelated source archive.
It is installed, and nothing changed The AddOns hint says they load at your next run. A reload of the menu is not that run. Azerloot’s author goes further for picture updates: restart the game fully, not only /reload.
Out of date The client marks an addon whose ## Interface is not this game’s, and the load note names “Load out of date AddOns”. That checkbox “loads addons made for another version of the game too. They may not work.” Leaving it off is the safer default.
Missing {list} The addon asked for another addon that is not installed. The names are the ones the list could not find.
Loads when needed The addon asked to wait until something calls for it, instead of loading at the start of the run.
Windows “Extract All” and a missing addon Azerloot 2.5.3 says that extractor nests Azerloot-2.5.3\Azerloot, and the game will not load it. Unpack with 7-Zip or WinRAR so AddOns/Azerloot/Azerloot.toc is the path. Download Azerloot-2.5.3.zip, not the GitHub “Source code” asset.
Blank book art after October 25 Azerloot 2.5.3: the game stopped loading addon pictures larger than 512 pixels. Update to that release; older picture files stay blank.
AZS Spell Meter 1.29 The author pulled that download: “Install 1.30 instead. This download does not finish loading.” The release to use now is 1.31.
Lua error after a game update Spell Meter 1.22 fixed a load error (too many upvalues) the same way: install the author’s newer zip and relog. Do not keep a build the author has already replaced.

What not to run

  • Take the zip from the author linked above. This site does not rehost it, and a reupload is not the release you just checked.
  • An .exe is not an addon. The game loads Lua and XML from a toc. A program that offers to “install addons” by running itself is a different thing.
  • SurvivorsDragonUi’s avrt.dll is optional and easy to skip. The author’s release says it sits beside AzerothSurvivors.exe, updates that one addon before launch, gives up after 10 seconds, and is not how the browser copy works. The zip alone is the addon. Remove the DLL to stop the updates. It cannot share the filename avrt.dll with another tool. If you do not want a native file next to the game, do not download it.
  • Two HUD replacements were not tested together. SurvivorsDragonUi replaces frames the game already draws. Install one HUD, see that a run still starts, and only then consider another.

Addons FAQ

Does Azeroth Survivors have a damage meter?
Yes. The original game has its own Damage Meter: a minimap button and a window, with the labels Damage Done, Healing Done, Boss Damage and Party DPS. Options → Interface can show or hide it, and can keep it above the level-up and jewelry cards. You do not need an addon for that.
How do I install an addon in the browser?
On wow.aethus.pl open Options → AddOns → Install AddOns and pick the author’s .zip. The page names the addon from its .toc file, stores it in that browser, and loads it on your next run. The same on/off list applies to every hero. This site does not host the zip.
How do I install an addon on the Windows build?
Open Options → AddOns → Open AddOns Folder and put the addon where that folder opens, so the path ends in AddOns/AddonName/AddonName.toc. It loads on the next run. SurvivorsDragonUi and Azerloot name that place benilla-config/AddOns beside AzerothSurvivors.exe. AZS Spell Meter’s notes only give the Open AddOns Folder button and the .toc path. Use the author’s release zip. Azerloot’s author says not to use Windows “Extract All”, because that wraps the folder in an extra directory the game will not load.
Will these addons work on the current game?
Not certified here. AZS Spell Meter 1.31 says it was tested on game 0.113.3. SurvivorsDragonUi 3.2.53 and Azerloot 2.5.3 were current on their GitHub release pages on October 27, 2026, and neither release says it was run on 0.120.5. If an addon errors after a game update, turn it off or install that author’s newer zip. Releases 1.28 and 1.29 of AZS Spell Meter are superseded; the author says 1.29 does not finish loading.
Do browser addons follow me to the Windows build?
No. The browser keeps addon files in that browser’s storage for wow.aethus.pl. Another browser, a cleared site storage, or the downloaded game does not have them. Install again on the copy you actually play.
Can an addon change a run or cheat?
The game’s addon API, as written up by the SurvivorsDragonUi author on October 15, 2026, only reads the run and can hide parts of the stock HUD. It does not change combat. That is not a promise about every file on the internet: install a zip only from the author who published it, and do not run an .exe that merely calls itself an addon.

Where this was read

  • Live client string table, October 27, 2026: wenilla_bg.wasm?v=7553bc3a76db on wow.aethus.pl. Menu text in that file includes 0.120.5 (short id e0e2410c sits beside the Aethus credit). AddOns labels, the four meter labels, and the Interface meter checkboxes are quoted from that table.
  • Live browser installer, same stamp: addons.js, loaded by rogue.js before the client boots. Zip rules, the “Installed …” / “no .toc” messages, and IndexedDB storage are from that script.
  • AZS Spell Meter README and the 1.31 release (tested by the author on game 0.113.3). 1.29’s “does not finish loading” note is on that releases page.
  • SurvivorsDragonUi README and release 3.2.53 (October 27, 2026). The October 15 API note is AzerothSurvivors-Addon-API-2026-10-15.txt.
  • Azerloot README and the 2.5.3 release (October 25, 2026).
